Marder (Marten) III is a lightweight German anti-tank self-propelled gun from the Second World War. It was a lightly armored self-propelled gun on the chassis of the Pz Kpfw 38(t) light tank. The gun was installed in an open wheelhouse. It was intended to fight enemy tanks; due to its weak armor, it was used mainly for ambush attacks or to support tank units. These vehicles were actively used on all fronts of the Second World War. Most of them were used on the Eastern Front.
