Sony has announced three new 4K HDR camcorders with Fast Hybrid autofocus - XDCAM® PXW-Z90, NXCAM ®HXR-NX80 and Handycam® FDR-AX700. All three handheld camcorders combine fast, reliable autofocus with an Exmor RS CMOS sensor that delivers sharp images along with unique shooting options. The new models support an HDR (high dynamic range) workflow that allows you to produce great content with minimal post-production, as well as a range of content creation features, apps and scenarios. The Fast Hybrid AF system guarantees highly accurate focusing during shooting, which provide 273 phase detection autofocus points covering approximately 84% of the frame area. Placed at high density, they work with an advanced algorithm recently developed by Sony. This greatly reduces focus yaw and erroneous switching, and is especially important for 4K content production. You can also set the camera's tracking distance range (5 steps) and the sensitivity to switch between objects at different distances (5 steps). This allows you, for example, to keep the main subject in focus, even if it is constantly blocked by obstacles, or to quickly switch between several objects that take turns entering and exiting the frame. The face detection system is also exceptionally fast, keeping the face in focus even if the subject turns in profile or even turns away from the camera for a moment.
