The ToupCam SCMOS00920KPA0.92 video eyepiece is a digital camera designed to receive, transmit and display on a computer screen an image obtained while working with a microscope.
The image is broadcast in real time, and the images are analyzed and processed using the ToupView program.
The SCMOS00920KPA video eyepiece is recommended for scientific research, laboratory research in medicine, forensic work, etc.
Video eyepiece design
The body of the video eyepiece is made of aluminum alloy. Behind the IR filter (range 380-650 nm) is a 1/2.7″ (5.8×3.28 mm) matrix. The maximum resolution of the matrix is 1280 × 720 pixels. Unlike CCD sensors, CMOS sensors have the following advantages: individual processing of each pixel, reduced power consumption, improved white balance.
On the reverse side of the housing there is a USB connector for connecting the video eyepiece to a computer.
The diameter of the "ocular" part is 23.2 mm. Overall diameter — 27 mm, case height — 40 mm.
The video eyepiece is installed in the eyepiece tube instead of the usual eyepiece or in the imaging channel of the microscope. If necessary, you can use adapters 23.2/30 mm, 23.2/30.5 mm, 23.2/30.75 mm (purchased separately)
To connect to a computer, the eyepiece comes with a USB cable about 150 cm long.

How to determine the camera's field of view
The field of view of the camera when used with a microscope depends on the size of the sensor, the magnification of the microscope objective, and the magnification of the camera mount adapter. The calculation of the size of the field of view is carried out according to the formula:
Camera field of view (mm) = Sensor size (mm) / (lens magnification x adapter magnification)
For example, when using a 20x lens and a complete adapter, the camera's horizontal field of view will be 5.8 / (20×0.5) = 0.580 mm, vertically 3.28 / (20×0.5) = 0.328 mm. To estimate the linear resolution, the obtained value of the field of view must be divided by the current resolution in pixels.
Software
The video eyepiece comes with "ToupView" software, which allows you to capture, view and edit the received images using a computer. This software includes various image processing tools.
"ToupView" allows you to save files in BMP, TIFF, JPG, TFT, PNG, etc. format.
