Описание
String A string is a part of stringed musical instruments that serves as the primary source of sound vibrations. It is a long piece of flexible material stretched over the resonator body of plucked, bowed, percussion or inside keyboard stringed instruments. The strings are smooth (without winding) and twisted with a cantle (with winding). Smooth strings are made from high-carbon steel, synthetic materials (nylon, carbon), sheep intestines and other types of livestock (core strings). The strings of some folk instruments are made from a twisted bunch of horsehair, animal tendons (nerp), plant fibers and silk. Twisted strings have a monolithic or multi-stranded base (core, core) of the same materials, wrapped with metal wire or tape (aluminum, silver, copper, bronze, brass ...). Winding makes the string heavier, lowers its vibration frequency and does not reduce flexibility, which has a positive effect on the sound quality[2][3]. Depending on the construction of the instrument on which the strings are used, they usually have a ball or loop at one end for attaching to the instrument. The strings of some instruments may be wrapped in silk at the ends, which protects them from damage. String diameters are given in hundredths of a millimeter or thousandths of an inch. They have a round core inside, on which a round wire is wound in a spiral. These strings are usually easy to make and are usually the cheapest. Naturally, they also have disadvantages: Such strings have a relief profile (“mounds” of braided wire in the longitudinal section of the string), which causes a creak when the player runs his fingers along the string. This squeak is used in such playing techniques as pick slide, finger slide, etc. The rough surface of the strings also wears out the fingerboard and frets faster. The braid is not attached to the core and can rotate around it, especially if it is damaged. This makes it harder to hold the string with your fingers, spoiling the overall playing experience. Flatwound strings.png Flatwound strings also have a round core, but the wire around it is rectangular. When tightly wound, these strings have a much smoother profile, making them more playable, less damaging to the fingerboard and frets, and less squeaky under the fingers. However, players often notice that the sound from such strings is noticeably different from round-wound strings, that it is less bright. Flatwound strings are also usually more expensive than roundwound strings. Halfwound is a hybrid of roundwound and flatwound, which gives the sonic characteristics of a roundwound along with a flat feel. Strings with this braid are usually made by winding a round wire around the core, then polishing or pressing the outside of the wire to
