It should be taken into account that CTCSS/DCS codes do not provide communication confidentiality, but only serve as preventive protection against radio hooligans. Busy Channel Detection (BCLO) The Busy Channel Detection function prevents interference with third-party subscribers. If, when attempting to transmit (by pressing the PTT button), the radio determines that the channel is already transmitting, the subscriber will hear a beep and the transmission will be terminated. This significantly reduces the likelihood of interference between subscribers. Time-out Timer (TOT) To prevent damage to the radio's output stages due to excessive transmission time, a transmission timeout function is provided. This feature will also be useful for optimizing network traffic by limiting some subscribers in terms of transmission time. Power save mode When this function is activated, after 16 seconds of no activity on the channel, the PT260 will enter the power save mode. Listening to the radio will be performed not on a permanent basis, but at intervals, which helps to increase the life of the device from a single battery charge. Monitoring The monitoring function allows you to temporarily disable CTC / DCS codes to listen to activity on the channel.
