The President Barry II 12/24 radio is new for 2020. It replaced the very popular President Barry ASC radio. This is the third modification of this radio station. In this modification, unlike the previous model, the appearance of the front panel of the radio station has changed. The squelch adjustment knob has moved to the upper left corner of the front panel, and the channel switching buttons have also moved to the left. A USB socket has appeared for recharging gadgets 5 V 2.1 A. The function switching buttons are located below the display. Maybe that's more convenient. The VOX button appeared. The default priority channels are 9/AM and 19/AM. Priority channels and modulation type can be changed using the STORE function. The new version of the President Barry II auto radio has a VOX function - voice activation. The VOX feature allows you to send messages to the microphone (or the optional VOX microphone) without pressing the PTT. Using the optional VOX microphone connected to the back of the radio - VOX connector - disables the main microphone. The TOT (Time Out Timer) function works as follows. If the PTT is pressed for more than 3 minutes, the screen flashes and transmission ends. The TALKBACK feature allows you to hear your own modulation over the radio's speaker. The PA (Public Address) function allows you to transmit an audio signal through an external speaker. An external speaker can be connected to the radio via the PA connector located on the rear panel. The radio has a new NOISE GATE function. This feature prevents noise from being amplified, resulting in optimized signal levels.
